The Ottawa Police Central District Investigations Unit and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance with locating Mr. Cody CHAUVIN wanted on a police warrant.
A warrant has been issued for Cody Chauvin, 26, who faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and assault with a weapon.
On Monday, April 13, 2015, around 5:15 p.m., a 37 year-old man was stabbed with a sharp object, possibly a knife, in the arm after a dispute resulting from a road rage incident.
A pick-up truck and a Toyota were initially travelling on Rideau Street. It is believed that at the time a third party was involved – a woman cyclist in her fifties. The pick-up driver would have seen an exchange between the cyclist and the Toyota occupants and somehow intervened.
Both vehicles stopped at a nearby parking lot at the intersection of King Edward; during the dispute the male passenger of the suspect vehicle stabbed the victim. As the suspect vehicle left the scene the victim used a tool to damage his car, leaving visible damage to the door post on the passenger’s side.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call Ottawa Police’s Central District Investigations at 613-236-1222, ext. 5166 or by downloading the Ottawa Police iOS app.
